Welcome to my blog! I am in the process of researching and developing an easier way for teachers to combine outdoors and teaching. Science lends itself to being outside, as does physical education, but sometimes it is difficult to find an easy fit. By utilizing a project-based approach teachers can create and implement cross-curricular lesson plans while getting students out into the fresh air and sunshine. Oh, did I say fair weather? Depending on your location and resources inclement weather doesn’t have to impede learning, you just have to get creative. This blog will focus on some of the things I discovered along the way while researching outdoor education, designing and implementing an outdoor classroom, and musing on what I experienced as a free-range child who had all outdoors as my PlayStation.
